Kathy Mitchell joined CFR in 2011 as a Senior Benefits Consultant. Her 30+ years of experience in Employee Benefits and specializing in ERISA compliance related to Health/Welfare and Retirement Plans, made Kathy the perfect addition to the team. Before joining CFR, Kathy was a Senior Partner at International Insurance Brokers, Inc. and the Practice Leader for the Aon Employee Benefits function in Tulsa.

Kathy began her benefits career with an international pipeline company in 1978 and directed their Employee Benefits and Compensation functions for 20+ years. During that period, she acquired the coveted Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. She completes an additional college level course every other year to maintain her Fellowship status with the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. The curriculum includes current compliance activity for benefits, retirement plans and limited human resources regulations. Her experience as a Plan Sponsor adds a unique dimension of understanding the Client side of the Broker's function.

While at Aon, Kathy received in-depth training pertaining to HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance and became a specialist with Aon's Central Region HIPAA Compliance Team (including Retirement Plans and Fiduciary requirements). She has continued to broaden her training and incorporate current requirements into her expertise. She is well-known in the region for her ability to train Employer personnel responsible for HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance.

Kathy also is a Certified Compensation Specialist (CCP) and has many years of experience in developing and maintaining corporate compensation programs.

Kathy has served on the boards of the Tulsa Chapter of the ISCEBS, SouthWest Benefits Association, Tulsa Employee Benefits Group, Tulsa Compensation Forum, Executive Women, Inc., and various task forces related to benefits and compensation. She has been a frequent presenter and mentor to most of these organizations.

Additionally, she has been an active board and committee member of The Bridges Foundation and Tulsa Rotary Club.
