Les, an insurance industry veteran, graduated from Rice University and attended the University of Texas Graduate School of Business.  In 1960 he joined Tennessee Life Group in Houston, and in 1963 transferred to Tulsa.  In 1965, he became an independent agent, forming Veltman Insurance Agency.  In 1994, he joined CFR, Inc.

Les is a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) and is currently an agent for Empire General, American General, Jefferson Pilot, Protective, First Colony, Pacific Life, Prudential, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and Hartford to name a few.  He works in the Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) market and is Series 6 licensed.

Active in his industry, Les has served as President of both the Tulsa and Oklahoma State Associations of Life Underwriters.  He is a charter member of the Top of the Table and is also a Life and Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, as well as being a member of LUTCF (Life Underwriting Training Council Fellowship).

Active in the community, Les has served on the Board of Tulsa Zoo Friends and was President and a Board member of Resonance, a women’s support group in Tulsa.  For several years he was also Chairman of their fund-raising golf tournament.

Les enjoys skiing and relaxing at his cabin, “The Mule Barn,” in Crested Butte, Colorado.
