To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all people and engaging science to find a cure.
"I personally wanted to get involved with the Komen Foundation and Tulsa's Race for the Cure as my mother is a breast cancer survivor, which makes me a high risk candidate. I know the importance of getting a mammogram and self-examination; my mom reminds me on a regular basis."
"CFR has done a few things in the past to support breast cancer research, but I believe this year was an exceptional year. We just did a 3-day event, where we sold jean passes on Wednesday as well as pink carnation bouquets, had a pink pancake breakfast on Thursday and then set up a pink lemonade stand on Friday."
"Teresa Fanning and April Rice were our volunteer runners in the Tulsa Race for the Cure. During our 3-day in-office fundraising events, we raised over $1,000 for breast cancer research and to help women with no insurance to get a mammogram at no cost. Teresa took this money with her to the race on Saturday as a donation."
"Individuals at CFR who didn't want to enter the actual race on Saturday morning, paid to be a "Sleep Walker". You enter the race, but stay in bed on Saturday morning. You got a Tulsa Race for the Cure t-shirt and the privilege of helping prevent breast cancer. We raised about $265 in this event."
