John Puetz

Mr. Puetz has more than 20 years experience in the insurance industry, both as an underwriter and as a broker.  His career has primarily been focused on large commercial insurance programs involving property, energy, construction and public entity business.  Prior to joining CFR, his career included working with Wausau, Johnson & Higgins, Marsh & McLennan, and Benfield Corporate Risk.

John began his career with Wausau Insurance Group in Chicago in 1988 as a property underwriter. In 1993, he joined Johnson and Higgins and developed the Public entity Practice for the Chicago Office. In 1995, he ran the Midwest regional Public Entity Practice for Johnson and Higgins. In 1997, John moved to Houston where he ran the Houston, New Orleans and San Antonio Operations and Public Entity Practice.  In 2000, John moved to Kansas City where he was the Managing Director responsible for the Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa Operations.  In 2005, John ran Global Sales and North American Operations for Benfield Corporate Risk in London. (A Global Reinsurance and Marine and Energy Broker). 

In 2007, John joined CFR as the leader for Kansas Operations.
