The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that manufacturing was the sole private industry sector to experience an increase in injuries and illnesses in 2010, rising to 4.4 percent per 100 workers. Musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) is one of the leading injuries in the manufacturing industry.

Ergonomics keeping people safe and healthy while they’re working can significantly reduce MSD injuries. Decrease injuries and workers’ compensation costs by conducting pre-work stretching exercises and investing in equipment that will assist employees who must do repetitive movements, handle heavy equipment or work in awkward positions.
